I guess this is only half a trade. We would have to move Zaitsev to shore up the RW, which looks weak with Brown taking top spot beside Matthews. Unless Kapanen makes the jump.

Makar is probably the top RHD prospect in the world. A can’t miss franchise defenseman. Securing us would give us three franchise players on the back end (Reilly, Liljegren, Makar) . Along with Dermott, defense is set for almost a decade. Would be one of the best in the league.

I'd call it exactly one trade.

Leafs could make a deadline deal if they're hurting in the scoring department, but does that really seem likely?

If Colorado did this I would probably cream my pants 8 times, they may go through with it if we add more but unlikely.
