Blues trade Colt "45" Parayko

Because if we need to move an elite forward, why not just take back an awesome young defenseman who checks literally every box and is also on a wicked sweet contract.

Also moving forward, Martina Luis-Ortiz will split her anthem duties with Afroman, who will perform our dear national anthem in the style of slam poetry. The lights go dim, the 'fro drags a tall stool out to centre ice, lights up a tasty cigarette and drops mad patriotism.

If the leafs trade Nylander, they will have nobody to replace him, they need to trade for a guy like Panarin or DeBrincat, or maybe even someone like Eberle just so they don’t get kicked out in the first round again.

Maybe if we trade Nylander for Parayko or Dumba, the easy solution would be to move Gardiner to wing. He thinks he’s a winger already anyway.

This team is still very offense heavy without nylander.

I think Leafs good even without Nylander, you’re right. For your lineups though, I would suggest breaking Hyman and Brown up on the top lines. Something like:

Hyman/ Matthews/ Marner
Marleau/ Tavares/ Brown

Now you have a speedy, skilled player and a grinder workhorse type player with a large power forward center on each each of our top lines. Seems like the kinds of matchup that Babcock likes.

Even without Willieburger the possibilities are endless.

Marleau-Kadri-Brown

The Leafs are three deep at every top 9 position without Wilfred, and Matthews with that much speed and tenacity on his wings would be a terror. The top six can even be switched, but out of respect for JT I think Marner would stay with Tavares.

Not to mention the rental winger market. Eberle, Nyquist, Zuccarello, Vanek, Skinner and Stone all play for bad teams and thus should be available at the deadline.

To think Leafs could have had De Brincat with their 2nd round pick. Instead draft "Guru" Hunter took Korshkov whom he could have chosen with Leafs 3rd round pick as no one else was interested.
Good thing Shanahan didn't make Hunter the GM or Leaf fans would have been subjected to another decade of the JFJ, Burke, Nonis syndrome.
