Leafs: Gardiner and a 5th

Blues: Parayko and a second.

In every list of stats, Gardiner is the best of the two, by stats, and every which way , shape or form you look at it. Blues need goals, leafs need defense on right side.

Might have to sign gardiner first, but Hockey is about most goals win. Gardiner averages 15 points more, has a better plus minus.

Truthfully I think the leafs should wait, but my fellow leaf fans can't see how much better we are by waiting until a real problem arises.

If your going to do a stat-to-stay comparison, I think it’s only fair that you do a comparison at the same stage in their career. In which case, it seems to me like Parayko has the better numbers.

The reason why Parayko holds more value than Giveaway is because of opportunity. Parayko is younger and has more miles ahead of him. He’s also a top pairing RHD, which have more value than 2LHD. He’s also better defensively, and can hit, fight, and clear the net. Offensively, Parayko isn’t much of a downgrade over Giveaway. And in virtually every other category, Parayko is better.

And that’s why Parayko >>> Gardiner and Blues would never make this trade.
