Why not? Kempe is a very adequate replacement, and Forbort is exactly what we are looking for in RHD. Both are young, cheap, and can be controlled for years.

I actually don’t think I offered enough here. Would need another piece in terms of pick/ prospect to go along with Kadri, but I knew there would be resistance to trading Kadri, so tried to make the trade favor Leafs.

We also get Forbort. Forbort is actually LD so we could make defensive lines something like this:

Reilly/ Hainsey
Dermott/ Zaitsev
Forbort/ Hainsey
(Sandin/ Liljegren)

Liljegren replaces Hainsey next year.
