Ok I think you all know my Panarin trade suggestion, but here it is 1 more time before we get into other stuff
To Columbus:
Gardiner, Bracco, 2020 2nd, Borgman
To Leafs:
Panarin, 2019 6th

So I think Dylan Strome would be a great add so we make a trade for him, and in my opinion we have the best 123 center in the league, and one that could (and will) replace Kadri in a few years

To Arizona:
Korshkov, 2020 1st, 2021 3rd
To Leafs:
Strome, 2019 2nd

We get Pesce as well to fix our RD problem
To Carolina:
2019 1st, Leivo, Carrick, Pickard, 2019 2nd, conditional 2019 4th if Pickard doesn't clear waivers
To Leafs:
Pesce
Ok, now we have our lineup is set for the year
Panarin/Matthews/Nylander (scoring line)
Marleau/Tavares/Marner (scoring, leader line)
Hyman/Kadri/Kapanen (checking line)
Johnsson/Strome/Brown (young skill line, with some checking)
*Ennis, Lindholm (great subs in case of injury)
Reilly/Pesce
Dermott/Zaitsev
Hainsey/Ozhiganov
*Holl
Anderson
Sparks
Hopefully Mcbackup clears waivers so we keep our goalie depth strong for this year and work on it next year

So I put Johnsson on the last line because he is still a bit unproven as he hasn't played a full NHL season yet, and this may also help keep his contract low if he isn't playing a ton of minutes and isn't contributing that much (although I hate saying it) This is the same with Strome, low minutes for a low contract, plus with him you have a backup plan in Lindholm Incase things don't go so well, I'm just hoping if this gets done that Strome has a late breakout season though after signing a low contract extension so leafs save money
We can always move things around and change up the lineups with all the depth that the leafs have
I know it looks like a hefty package for Strome, but usually early picks do turn out well, and he isn't a terrible player, he will be for sure top 9 and probably top 6 forward, plus early second round picks like to try and prove themselves to show they should've gone earlier (Kyrou for example), which is also what we also get from Arizona, in exchange for a late first and third, and a half-bust let's call it in Korshkov
Leafs will likely be able to make these moves without cap space being an issue so I say do it, if cap is an issue we trade Hainsey or Brown and bring up a guy like Grundström or Marincin

You just traded all our draft picks away.

Strome is a bit of a bust. He still hasn’t played NHL. A first round pick for a 4th line center seems a bit much for my liking.

Why are you so focused on replacing kadri? He signed for 3 more years and will probably re sign I just don’t understand it.

In the long run we replace Kadri, not right away.
