Just thought this one up

Brock Boeser
Chris Tanev

For
William Nylander
Kasperi Kapanen
Josh Leivo
Connor Carrick

Now before everyone starts to mock this hear or read me out

Boeser is still on ELC right up until Marleau deal is done. Therefor Leafs easily sign Marner and Matthews next summer while having 2 year window of testing out market for stud dman. Once Marleau deal expires Leafs have his 6 + million plus cap increase by then of 2 million tsing Boeser long term..

Tanev yes in injury prone but when healthy is a great partner for Reilly

Nylander gets to now play as centre in Vancouver and Kapanen becomes top six and Leivo actually plays and while Carrick is downgrade at least he is healthier

Any thoughts?

I think Vancouver would kiss you if you offered them this deal.

Boeser is good. But would rather keep Nylander and Kapanen.

I have a hard time seeing Tanev ever living up to his potential after so many injuries.

Boeser>>Nylander

Tanev>>>>Carrick

Kapanen doesn't make fhe diff. Leivo is a nothing.

No, we are not trading Nylander
-Kyle Dubas
Also I wouldn’t even take this trade because Tanev is always injured
Bowser also just had a long term injury and has beef with Matthews so just no.

I don't understand the Nylander hype. With Matthews he looks good but take him away from Matthews and he looks meh. He misses the net way too much

Boeser is a thief as he steals the puck from opponents so effectively and he hits net way more effectively.

Whether you like Nylander more than Boeser they would be considered equal in trade value. The difference is you get 2 more years of Boeser before a long term deal needs to be made. That's the value of Kapanen.

Kapanen is good but will never be a top 6 in Toronto and if this gives Toronto 2 extra years of a stud player why not?

Tanev is way better than Carrick when healthy and Leivo will never play in lineup in Toronto

If you guys want to watch the Matthews and Marner negotiations next summer be difficult be my guest. Once Marleau deal is done that's when Boeser needs to be done. If none of you can see why this deal actually helps the leafs than you all have Leaf goggles on.

Oh and Boeser and Matthews are best friends. It's been well documented when they play against one another. no biggy though just a thought. Always such negative feedback on this site. Why can't people learn how to follow up negativity with some positivity. Not every deal is just about the players. contracts count for something in the NHL.

Boeser is a natural goal scorer, and may very well be the better player than Nylander, but it’s still a bit of a risk. Nylander is more proven in my eyes. If Vancouver would trade Boeser for Nylander, it might be worth pursuing.

The rest of the trade heavily favours Vancouver. I find it hard to believe Tanev will ever reach full potential, let alone recover his former abilities, after only playing half a season two years in a row.

I agree Boeser = Nylander

Tanev plus his poor health = Carrick and his poor play + Leivo never play

Kapanen = 2 years of Boeser ELC

If you Canucks fan throw In Bracco
If you Leafs fan lose Kapanen for Bracco

Any better?

@Craigger

When you break it down like the way you have here, it does make more sense. Even half a year of Tanev actually playing is better than a year of Carrick sitting in the press box. As a Leafs fan, I say we keep Kapanen and give VAncouver Bracco, Leivo, and Carrick. I’m pretty sure Canucks would accept something along those lines. They would probably be more than happy to dump Tanev right now.

My thoughts on Tanev AND this deal is to scrap it.
