Then

Blue Jackets will never part with Zack Werenski or Seth Jones.
Both are potential, future Norris Trophy candidates.
Especially when there isn't a player of superior value coming back.

With the exception of Kapanen, you are trading Leafs garbage for Columbus gold.

Not sure if Werenski is worth Marner, but he is certainly considerably better than Carrick. Without a top line defenseman going back Columbus’ way, Werenski will be remaining exactly where he has been the last two seasons.
