why would you care about exchanging ltir, leafs profit is over $100 mm a year. stop trading ltir, it has no major effect on salary cap.

Because LTIR doesn’t take effect until after the season starts. So you have to be under cap before the season starts including LTIR. Only season starts you can remove LTIR players from the cap hit and replace them.
