Parayko is a great dman.

He’s not super human and certainly not worth half of what your saying.

Nylander for Parayko would be a fair trade both ways if Nylander is signed to a good contract (6x6 or better) . I wouldn’t be interested in that trade though.

While you've definitely offered up way more that his objective value for Parayko, I'd bet you're closer to what the Blues would demand than people realize. Without young depth at RHD, why would the Blues be motivated to move Parayko? He's unbelievable. One of my favourite defensemen, and if he was on my team I wouldn't want to see him traded for any less than a King's ransom.

Leafs aren’t giving up nylander and only need 1 defender. They would prefer to have more than 1. However, they could get another in next free agency. The Nylander + Others for Parayko is very similar to Hall for larsson, but st. louis wins a lot more. I like Gardiner; I don’t like his line mates. If leafs wanted petrovic they could have offer sheeted him. Dubas will not overpay to get a right handed defender.

Sure it seems like a heavy deal, (which it is) and one that soley targets him and throws an offer that most likely assures to score him and imo, he is worth it to us now and in the long run.

I feel that if we are not adding grit up front, add it on the back and let the forward motion carry on while supplying tons of grit on the back end.

I do not really like the offer sheet way as it could cone back on us so, knowing what you get, a pretty decent defender and a shed of cap space on Zaitsev who we do not even know if he can live up to his first year.
