Saw this trade online and I liked the thought behind it.

Sign Derek Ryan to a 2 year deal

TOR: 25th overall, Jeremy Bracco, Josh Leivo, rights to Tyler Bozak

PHI: Wayne Simmonds, Radko Gudas

Simmons would end up being a 1 year rental for a 1st round pick.
IMHO, Leafs should stay the course, keep their picks and continue to draft the best team in the NHL!

Simmonds is a great player. He would look good in a Leaf uniform.

I think what you are offering here is pretty reasonable. But I don’t know if Simmonds is on the market. Fliers will be wanting to make playoffs again this year, and they can probably use Simmonds a lot more than anything that is going their way here.
