I actually think you came up with a pretty good proposal here Hacksaw. Much better than the Carolina one below. You provided reasoning which is sound and you selected a team that is bound to make big moves this off-season and you targeted two players that fill a glaring need for the Leafs. I like your lineups. And with the exception of DeHaan, I like your free agent signings.

I like it just that I would keep Dermott on bottom line defence and mover Demers up, I donâ€™t think Dermott is top 4D ready.

The oilers biggest need this offseason is a right handed defencemen. It would be sweet if we could trade for Larsson but there's 0% chance he gets traded. Unless someone goes way over the top and overlays for him. But at that point, why make the trade?

Considering Oilers trades Hall for Larsson, you are probably right MarquesMen. To be honest, I actually think we are overpaying here a little. If we are giving them Nylander and Gardiner, I think the first is a little much to be throwing their way. RNH isnâ€™t exactly a bust, but Nylander is the better player and will be controlled for 8 years at probably the same price or less than RNH. Playing with McDavid, he would have a jump of about 10-15 points.

Larsson is the only good RHD on Edmonton, which is why they traded for him. As they overpaid so much, you got to feel that they will need to keep him around for a while, or look like fools for unloading him after only one season, unless, as you said, they can find an even bigger fool to pay an even bigger fool to trade him to.

Hacksaw put up a good trade. He offered two players of high quality that Edmonton can use, plus threw in a pick and Carrick (RHD) as incentive. The value he placed is about right, and fills a need for both teams (Edmonton desperately needs an offensive minded puck moving defenseman as well) . Itâ€™s a fair trade, and Iâ€™m sure Edmonton would have to at least give it some serious consideration.

I like the Nylander, Gardner, Carrick and 1st for Larsoon and Nuge.
RNH gives Leafs excellent depth at center (a position of current weakness) and Larsson is a good stay at home, RHD who might be the right partner to take Riely to the next level.
Oilers get Nylander who has the speed and skill to play with McDavid and Gardner to quarterback their PP. plus Oilers get another 1st round pick for their prospect pipeline.
I like this trade for both teams.
