That seems to be a possibility that many guys see here. Interesting what Dubai has said that he sees a few good options at Marlies to help leafs defence.

Holl is a big piece that's going to add to Leafs right side in October. Plus Rosen and Borgman could make jump. Rosen maybe higher end than Borgman at this point.

The reason I push Holl to top pairing is he is so similar to Dermott calm and sound 🔊 defensively. Early in season he may get real opportunity. An Allstar at AHL last season if leafs don't catch big fish in offseason that is defence we might see to start season.

I hope Dubas has more imagination than you. I wouldn’t want to see that defensive corps on the leafs.

Thats basically the same d that got obliterated by Boston, minus one of our best dmen (hate him all you like, Gardiner is the second best dman on this team. i hate him too, and i'd prefer to have a defensive dman than him, but he is by far the second best dmen on Toronto) . That only makes us worse. If we’re trading Gardiner, its for a defensive dman, think Alex Petrovic, Mark Pysyk, someone like that, maybe even a guy like Colin Miller straight across. Cause Holl isn't a lifesaver and will sink very quickly on the top pair, he'd probabky be a -10 within his first few games, Polak is a bum, Rosen played terrible in the NHL during his stint, and there's no real additions there.

Holl is going to be a good dman. he is not first pairing, probably 3rd but will be good at his position.
