With the package that Ottawa received for Brassard who will be a 3rd line C, I think the Leafs can move Bozak for a quality return as well as JVR.

Brassard was the key piece of a 3 way deal. Technically he was traded to Vegas and then to Pittsburgh. That's the only legal way that Vegas was able to retain 40% - 2M of his salary; and the cap strapped Penguins to get him. You can't just grab cap so two other teams can make a deal.

Back to the point: Brassard is a little better than Bozak, despite having a bad year in 2017. But not much better, his previous stats are inflated by being on 3 years of good Rangers teams. Bozak's stats were deflated for the converse.

The Carolina trade is fine. But you might want to move a contract with Bozak (I use T. Moore), like you did with Marincin in the JVR trade.

JVR is clearly better than Brassard and worth the mid 1st, Jenner and Murray who can play RHD; and I think, currently is. However, the Jackets may not be prepared to move Murray as they may get rid of Johnson before the deadline.

I would just make it the 1st, a 2nd, and Jenner. I don't see Murray as a player the Leafs need long term. I think the Leafs need a 3rd pair Dman who can hit, fight, and defend. That makes Martin expendable.
