We don't need a LHD back. Have you not heard the Leafs have needed a RHD the last two years?

The Leafs would be better off with Nick Holden; and you don't need to give up anything but a late pick and a prospect for. But the problem is they still need him.

At this point, it seems Nash is no longer driven and he should just retire. Sad.

BUT!

The Rangers clearly need a 2nd/ 3rd line center, one that is good at faceoffs. (They have Peter Holland in their lineup? )

TOR: Bozak (50%), later 2nd. ; T. Moore, Carrick ( 3M)

Carrick is an NHL Dman, and Trevor has no where to go on the Leafs and is in the trade for the required balance of contracts.

At this point, it's better that the Leafs get something in return for Bozak. Holden is a decent 2nd, 3rd pair stay at home Dman. But that's all. The price for Bozak is Holden and the late 1st, and hopefully Day and Gettinger work out for giving up Moore and Carrick.

I hate giving up Carrick, but his days are numbered, with Liljegren and Rasanen coming up.

Sean Day is a risk. He's a big tank. He should be dominating the OHL right now and he's not been doing that with Windsor. He has played better since moving to the Frontenacs, so maybe the trade has drilled something in.

Gettinger is a project. He's a huge 6'6" LW, that has some offensive talent. He may make this deal worth the effort. He's almost a point per game with the Greyhounds and he's only 19. I project him as a 3rd line LW in 2-3 years.

Bozak will not play here next year, but if he plays well in NY, they may well extend him.

The above should have the line after the TOR: line;

NYR: Holden, cond. 1st; Day, Gettinger

Not sure why it disappeared.
