Ok... let's go for the cup then... honestly isn't that what we are trying to do before the ECL contracts kick in...

Leafs Trade Bozak Carrick Kapanen 1st & 2nd Rd picks this year and a second rd pick in 2019 to Ottawa for Eric Karlsson

Now you got the #1 right handed defence man in the NHL we can figure out the contracts for Karlsson and the kids next year. Sens get a mit full of picks to rebuild and can trade Bozak for another 2nd Rd pick .... you may have to add something to make the money work but if the Leafs are going to go for it .... that's your move. You take a chance and you go for it. The fans are ready and we have been very patient and supportive .... take a chance and go for the Cup... you are not mortgaging the future... We have our top three kids and our Goalie we are dying for a number 1 RHD and Karlsson is that missing piece.

Blue monster your buying high on karlsson not worth it. This year Toronto isn't winning cup they need more time for the big 3 to get more consistent. just keep building and drafting from within.

Doughty is gold on anything he touches. He’s the guy if you’re making the big bold move.

Whats the current value of Gardinar? Would you move him as part of a package for a more reliavle defensive defensemen? I just don't see him as a fit anymore. Too many misplays even for a young D. Thoughts?

Gardener is a piece u let him finish his contract new blood will allow you to trade him the year his contract ends at deadline. Next season gardener is on expiring contract.

The Leafs aren’t ready for a cup run.

I agree that Jake Gardiner is more likely going to be the odd man out on the blue line within the next year. He is a fun player to watch, but he can also make you cringe with his sometimes lackluster efforts clearing pucks out of the d-zone or not covering an opposing player (i. e. Columbus Game, Dec 20th) .

However, I would not involve him in a trade with Bozak and would rather package him in a sperate deal during the 2017-18 season. Otherwise, the Leafs would be more exposed on the back end for this years playoff run.
