Captain Clutch is correct! To give Nylander and Marner 6M / per year is too much money to pay based on current play/ production.

A bridge deal for 4.5 would be more realistic for the Leafs organization to negotiate as it would provide them with the proper assets to lock up Matthews and JVR long term because well duh. they are productive! This also gives the Leafs more time to further evaluate which of the two players (i. e. Nylander and Marner) are in it for the long haul.

I also agree that Bozak would fit in nicely with the Penguins organization so long as the player/ picks coming back is reasonable.

Side Note: Let's not forget that the 'D' core is about to become even more jammed pack with "Igor Ozhiganov" from the KHL expected to join the Leafs next year. So managing the budget properly with upcoming trades and signings will be crucial.
