Bozak, Leivo and Carrick
To Pittsburgh for
Maatta and 2018 2nd rd pick

Normally don’t read in to rumours but, Pittsburgh is struggling and the need a 3rd line C. So they will be making a push to acquire one.
Basically the trade is Bozak for Maatta but that’s not enough so Leivo is added and the Pens would need a roster D coming back.

This is good to me and solves the line shuffling that we continue to see, it’s good to have depth but I’m am plain sick of seeing Babs roll out a different line up every night.

They need a top pairing guy and you propose that they trade that much for a guy who ends up on the bottom pair? Are you high or something?

No from Pittsburgh. Maatta is more valuable to them than anyone coming back.

It’s not so much as a bottom pairing, the Leafs don’t need a top pairing D. The top 4 is fine, they need stability throughout, having 3 pairings that can step up on any given night isn’t a bad thing.
Leivo is so overrated by Leafs fans, it’s ridiculous.
Sure he’s a fine player but he’s a bottom 6 player who can score, but his cap is probably 15 goals. You all think you’re going to get a huge deal by adding Leivo, you’re not.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have another D for the PK, because currently it’s all Hainsey and Zaitsev and if they take a penalty Babs is scrambling, Maatta would help with that.

Torontobuds- Maatta is solid and a smart positional player, jus a reliable D who can play 23 minutes a night if needed.

DBF- You jus don’t know man. Hainsey has brought the best out of Rielly and they are doing well together. Borgs has some offensive ability so Maatta would help him be able to jump up, Carrick isn’t that type of D that can free up a more talented D. Hainsey and Rielly are going to be burnt out playing the top lines every night, they need more capable and reliable D, period. Using Bozak and Leivo to achieve that would be great.

Leivo to Pit for 2018 conditional 1st if pit makes it to their conference final if not then 2018 2nd and 2019 2nd. Biased leaf.
