Carolina needs offence and Toronto needs defence. This gives Carolina two roster players and a good prospect and a pick for a top dman they can really use.

Better and cheaper for the Leafs to develop the Dmen they have, draft more, and augment with proven FA's (this will be Polak's last year) .

Sign FA Mike Green for next year to a 1 year deal. (While we can afford him)

Other UFA's to consider:

Eric Gudbranson (no offence; fighter; defence is good; hothead)
Clayton Stoner (Decent Vet for a one year, on the cheap)
Andre Sustr (my pick - Solid, big, good skating; 26 yr old RHD;
