I would absolutely be trying to pry Tanev or Gudbranson out of Vancouver. I think you would have to add a 2nd to this trade though. Guddy is a UFA after this year so he could be extended but he provides a skill set that the Leafs are missing.

Scoreboard didn't show it but leafs totally dominate hawks and borgman and Rosen do just fine. Nonsense Penelty against borgman 4 hit on debrincit


Leafs had puck on string all night just sloppy around. The net but speed wore out hawks totally exhausted.

How did the scoreboard not show it? We won didn't we? The scoreboard to me said 4-3 for the Leafs. Yes, aside from sloppy play in the first, they definitely dominated the majority of the game and it reflected in the scoreboard with a win. a well deserved comeback win.

I personally really like Borgs game, I haven take been overly impressed with Rosen yet but he can improve. The Leafs really don’t need to trade right now though, Borgs and Carrick is a fine third pairing. Gards and Zaitsev are way better this year, and Rielly and Hainsey I think are as advertised. The Leafs actually have a pretty good group of D, maybe not the best defensively but they can sure move that puck in a hurry, playing in the O zone is ultimately the best defence, and that’s what they have a great ability to do.

Rosen is clearly not ready for the NHL - Borgman looks alright, To say they look fantastic, they have played 2 nhl games, is not fair - teams are still getting familiar with new systems - goalies are not in form.
It is unfortunate the leafs do not have better options cause these 2 are going to keep getting exposed just like they both did vs the Devils. Send Rosen down and Sign Polak.
Not the answer to anything but a better option than what they have right now.
