personally I believe the leafs are working on a blockbuster deal something along these lines
Toronto gets Duchene and barrie

Avs get bozak leivo bracco and liljen and a 2nd round pick next year this would still leave Toronto over the cap and they may have to throw in komarov

Makes no sense at all for both teams. There's no way in hell leafs give up Liljegren that early, they made mistakes in the past on trading away assets or given up on early developing players (rask, Seguin, Hamilton etc) and if they trade tim and he turns out to be a top notch d then leafs will be kicking themselves like always. Also there is no room for Duchene and we don't need Barrie who doesn't fit well. Avs won't trade their two too players in one trade (when do you get are that happen? ) And they are asking for a high price and they would probably want more than this.
