The Leafs only make that trade if they feel they've exhausted every part in developing and preparing Rachel for the NHL. I still believe Rychel makes the league at some point.

In terms of your line up, I'm sure you meant to include Marner in the mix which means Brown is back to his third line duties (and unless there's some major shake up on the second line) . Somehow I don't see Babcock using both Liljegren and Gardiner together as they are similarly offensively minded. Gardiner may fair better paired up with Zaitsev and Reilly with Liljegren. Either way, no big deal as the coaching staff will figure out what the best line up should be. Based on the Harmonic attempt, I'm curious if the Leafs will further try to upgrade their defence than what's currently listed. It's possible that Hainaut will be gone and Neilson may still be in the minors. JVR and Bozak are also missing from your roster. I assume this is because they were either traded or not resigned.

Hyman shouldn't be anywhere near Matthews. Two of Bracco, Kapanen and Marleau will be Matthews linemates the other on Nylander's left. (I know Bracco and Kapanen are both righties, so one will have to play left or be moved)

Blockbuster, I could envision a line like Kapanen-Matthews-Marleau. Kapanen showed the team what he's capable of doing during the playoffs and with his speed and hustle, I could easily see him replicating what Hyman can do. Although I like Hyman as well and what he brings to the team.

One interesting stat I heard while watching a Lesf game was that Hyman was one of the most if not most hit players in the league in the offensive zone which led me to believe he's often getting to the puck first. If Kapanen could supply that same ability and grit, along with his more offensive upside, this could be a good long term pairing.

Bracco's offensive creativity can't be ignored either as a player who had the "puck on a string". If his defensive game improves enough, then he should also be considered. With Bracco's offensive abilities, he needs to make the top 6 at some point in this team to be effective.

Screw up that I didn't include marner of course he goes nowhere but look how the defence starts to shake up. Leafs are In heaven after this season.

Why is Bracco on the fourth line? That's how you ruin good prospects!
