Leafs - Rychel, Lindberg, Timashov, 2018 2nd, 2018 5th

Knights - Marchessault

Then...

Leafs - Bozak, Valiev, 2018 1st

Rangers - Holden, 2018 2nd

Gives a little contract and cap relief. Holden would be a better option than Hainsey. Marchessault could be a good fit between JVR and Marner, more of a finishing touch to finish Marners plays. Hard to evaluate as I was trying to make contract and cap space without the trade being too lopsided in the leafs favour.

Why is Toronto adding the higher pick in the bye trade? Holden doesn't hold more value than bozie.

Similar age, skill level and both are on expiring contracts. I would think Holden is more valuable just based on position. Plus Valiev is essentially a contract dump which could cost something.

No way Holden is worth more than bozak. I personally think centres are worth the most position wise, bozak is coming off a 50+ point season and is capable of playing 2nd line if needed. He's also one of the best in the faceoff circle (6th last year)

I'm not a fan of the Vegas trade. I think the Leafs are giving up too much for Marchessault. I understand the guy had a breakout year but I'm still wondering whether he can repeat his previous success.

I don't like either trade for the Leafs, I think they're favouring the other teams quite a bit. Don't think Toronto needs to add a pick for a trade with Bozak.

The Rangers trade is wrong on so many levels. Bozak's defensive responsibilities might be lacking but his Faceoff win percentage is top 10 in the league and that is extremely valuable. The Leafs giving up a first round pick for a depth defenseman is not realistic. As for your comment around a contract dump being worth something, it doesn't hold the same value as a salary dump and definitely not a first.

Guys, really? You don't think you're over evaluating the leafs assets?

The first trade is essentially trading a second and Rychel for Marchessault. Pretty cheap for a potential 30 goal scorer. What's the bigger gamble, March or hoping that the second turns into NHL caliber players? The fifth is to get two contracts off the books, less than we'd pay for a salary dump.

Id have to disagree with everyone and say Holden is worth more in a trade. I like Bozak and we can all have an opinion but, historically, defenders fetch a higher rate. Holden is a legit top 4 and put up good numbers last year. He's also on an extremely cap friendly contract. But, I can see why people would want to keep our 1st even if it is a 20+ pick. So,

Bozak, Valiev and a third for Holden?

With both trades combined we'd lose one roster player in Bozak, a third and a fifth. We'd gain march, Holden a second, cap and contract space.
