I like Pesce on a 3rd pairing, but not at that price.

Straight up for Leipsic maybe.

if leipsic is involved you would have to add. leipsic hasn't played in the NHL and pesce has.

Carolina laughs. That is not enough for a top 4 RHD young d man.

Brett is a 3rd pair Dman who might play some 2nd line at best. He will certainly not displace Zaitsev or whomever the Leafs use at the #4 spot.

The Canes don't have to protect him, so he is not on the table; except in one case. You have slightly overvalued Pesce, but he's pretty decent.

The Canes are short one required exposure forward for the draft. A team with an extra expendable forward could be traded for him. The Leafs could do it if they don't mind losing Bozak or Leo or Martin in the draft. They could trade Fehr or Smith.

How about:

Fehr, 4th for Pesce.

You're wrong Pesce is a top 4 d man who will only get better at the age of 22. If he was a leaf than you would'nt say that.

That's just not true. He's clearly a 3rd pairing. But that's not the Leafs target.

20 points doesn't cut it in this league and the direction it's headed in. Maybe he picks it up, maybe he doesn't. If he was a Duck, you'd be requiring a 1st and 2nd rounder.

If he's a top 4 DMan on the RHS then the Canes won't trade him and all this is mute. But the expansion draft will force them to because they won't give up Slavin or Murphy over him.

Perfect chance for the Leafs to low ball the offer. If not he or another are off to Vegas. No problem either way for the Leafs.

When Bishop goes for a 4th, teams shouldn't expect much in return.
