Apparently the rumor is now that the NHLPA has proposed we initiate resuming the regular season in July, playoffs in August/ September, draft and free agency in October, then regular season 2020/ 2021 starts in November

If the NHLPA thinks it's players can handle such a long schedule after the break, then I'm all for it. The winning team doesn't get another break from July this year until end of 2020/ 2021 season. which if they go deep in the playoffs again might not be until June next year.

I actually haven't read about this but I'm shocked the NHLPA wants this. I was expecting the owners to want something like this and the players to reject the idea.

The winning team would be fine, imagine the runner up - playing right till the end and having to start all over again without any breaks. Maybe hockey should be played all year anyway, spread out the season so everyone has time off. Let the players put in for holidays if they need a break - oh, yeah, they would be like us normal working joes then.

Yeah. I imagine winning the cup would make it more than worthwhile to having to play an extra long season next year. Either way, they get a break now or in the summer like normal, they still would have a long season one way or another.
