If as an example Detroit won the draft lottery. Free up lots of cap space to add a top 4 D man, either through free agency or a trade.

Matthews and Bracco to Detroit for Mantha, 1st overall pick in 2020 Alexis Lafreniere and Detroits 1st rd pick in 2021.

I like this one. I know people will say it's horrible, etc. But it's an interesting prop. Mantha is a good player but obviously not in the realm of Mathews. Where I think it works for me is Detroit is not one player away from being a good team. Mathews may score 50 their but that 1st is still a lottery pick the following year. If this were done I would say trade Marner or Nylander (you can resign one of them) and Tavares and do 2 year rebuild.

Honestly a good prop. I wouldn't make this trade but good prop.

I would draft Byfield. And then we package Detroit's first and our first to move up even higher in the draft next year and draft another can't miss player.

I'm not sure if Packaging another first would be needed. Mathews alone doesn't take Detroit from a 40pt season to the playoffs. They may end up with consecutive 1st picks.
