Leafs trade Bracco, Hollowell
Rangers trade Georgiev or Shestyorkin

So, RedWing, find me a recent deal wheee a backup went for more than Kerfoot. Then I will believe you. Until then all he is worth is a combination of picks and prospects at the very most. And not a 1st+ like you suggest. I like your backpedalling though. In the same sentence you say Georgiev is not worth a good roster player like Kerfoot, but then say Rangers want a 2nd+. Kerfoot is only 25 and matches Rangers players ages well and contributes immediately and significantly. A 2nd will be years away from making the team, if ever. Kerfoot is a sure thing. Why would Rangers want a 2nd over a sure thing? The rebuild is almost over. They have the best prospect pipeline in the league and have picks coming out the wazoo. If they trade Kreider then they will need a replacement. Kerfoot plays LW rather well on Leafs. He would be a very good replacement. His stats are very much in line with Kreider. So if Kreider is worth a 1st+, then so is Kerfoot.

So, find me a recent deal where a backup went for more than a young roster player that gets 20+ goals and 40+ points. Then I will accept your response as anything more than a troll post.

Bryan Elliot traded to Calgary for a 2nd round pick.

Turns into Jordan kyrou top 6 winger in development.

Kerfoot is 25 3rd line center. I wouldn't give you a 2nd for him. Also the fact that you previously compared him to Robert thomas is still resonating in my head. Laughs for days.

Ben bishop traded from blues to Ottawa for 2nd round pick.

Halal traded to blues for Lars Eller and Ian Schultz. Lars Eller was a first round draft pick and top prospect at the time.

The list goes on and on. Get over your selves and payup. Get the guy you need or shut up. He is 23 has performed very well for a crap team. Has played 21 games and posted 911 and 3.11. Those are starter numbers. I get he would be a back up for your team. But your utilization of a player doesn't dictate that players value.

I have to agree with redwing1 both shestyorkin and georgiev hold the same value personally only because georgiev has proven NHL numbers.
Both guys would require a johnsson or kapanen with a small add.

Redwing1 you forgot to do your research

Brian Elliot was dealt to calgary after being a starter not a backup. once he was dealt as a backup he went for a 4th rounder

Ben Bishop got dealt with the intention to be ottawas starter as anderson was hurt. Once anderson got back bishop got dealt numorous times for crap players and a 4th and even a seventh

Halak got dealt to st. louis to be the starter. Once elliot proved better for a couple seasons halak became expandable and was never resigned.

Intention to be Starters get a 1st or a couple 2nd.
Intention to be a backup gets 4th and crap laters at best

LeafsGM simply asked for backup examples not St. Louis starting goalie examples. good try though. i don't need to laugh like you do i just feel sorry for you at this point.

Gorgiev and shestyorkin are better than backups but not starters. expect a descent player with a 3rd for this kind of deal. not much more not much less.

I agree, Johnsson or Kapanen would have to go, probably along with Timashov or a pick. I would take either at this point, just to get a replacement for Hutch.

Kerfoot’s Numbers are in line with Johnsson and Kapanen’s and he can play center. He is a better all round forward than either Johnsson or Kapanen and is capable of carrying a line, which neither of them can. His numbers are almost as good as Kreiders despite not getting the same amount of ice time or opportunity on special teams. Now that he is playing wing on the second line his numbers have increased again significantly. Whether we continue to use him in the top six while Mikheyev is hurt and we experiment with the bottom six remains to be seen. At minimal he has shown that he is a very good player and is doing much better under Keefe than he was with Babcock. Though that can be said about the whole team.

Craigger actually he was brought in as the back up and took the job look back at that bloom. On top of that georgi has played 26 games t gis year. That's over half the season. Elliot only played 40 ish if memory serves me correctly. Boom.

Like I said craigger intention doesn't mean anything. It's the quality of player you are getting. So if I intend on getting sandin as a 3rd line Dman is that what his value is. Seriously how many games did bishop have pre trade.

Elliot was dealt to Calgary as a starter after he won the starting job in st. louis. Elliot signed with St. Louis and rejuvinated his careermso he was never dealt to st. louis (way to know your own team) unfortunetly for you, its the calgary deal you brought up so your latest points you brought up again silly writing.

Intention on goalies means a lot. if teams know another team needs a starter the price goes up. If the team is only dealing to get a backup the price goes down. that's the goalie market. history always repeats with this.

Your Boom again got slammed. research it might do you good once in a while.

Honestly offensive players should flourish with Mathews nylander Tavares marner ect. Most teams best defense forwards and dmen are out against leafs top players that third line should be producing significantly more. Once your team shores up the defense gets a back up worth a Damn and the team fully buys in leafs will be dangerous till then it's can we score more than the other team.

It has nothing to do with the team wanting the player. The fact that you are defending your remarks makes me smile. So uh ny can I get georgiev but I only want to pay back up prices cause I intend on using him as a back up. lol.

The game has always been can we score more than the other teams. That is literally the whole objective in hockey, as in most sports.
