I don’t see any reason not to make these deals. Though I think you are overvaluing these guys a bit. Maybe because he was a 1st round pick, I don’t know, but Julius Honka seems to be valued pretty highly still among fantasy forums, despite the fact that virtually every analyst report I read on him seem to think he’s a bust. He’s 23. This is about the time he steps up or forever be an AHL lifer. At this point it’s a bit of a crapshoot who makes it and who doesn’t. I’d rather keep our three pieces than take on their one. I really don’t think Honka has any better chance at this point than the 3rd itself.

He wants out so why not give him a shot. Need to lose a roster RHD to make room for him. If that is enough why not? With leafs have to add a prospect or lower pick for dallas to bite why not?

GMs may be mad at the leafs due to the new marner deal so it might take a little more to get anyone right now. Either way 6 years of marner is better than 3 and 10.893 is better than 11 soooo. giddy up. no more marner deals
