Leafs trade Marner
Buffalo trades Skinner, Ristolainen

I like skinner’s new contract. Too bad Marner just doesn’t do the same. I think Marner is a better all round player, while Skinner is obviously the better goal scorer. He’s a legitimate replacement for Marner, and we can probably squeeze Ristolainen into the deal somehow too.

I know Leafs need a play maker. Nylander is one. If Kapanen can ever learn to pass, that’s two. Skinner, Tavares, Matthews all legitimate 40 goal scorers.

Johnsson/ Matthews/ Kapanen
Skinner/ Tavares/ Nylander
Hyman/ Kerfoot/ Bracco
Mikheyev/ Spezza/ Petan.

Do you really believe the leafs trade Marner to Buffalo. that's all I will say about that.
You want an alternative trade for discussion:
Johnsson to Edm. for Larrson, Leafs can add a pick or prospect.

I think skinner is buffalos guy for life. They may do this deal if marner signs skinner money but we all know that ain't happening

Overall its a good idea but i truely feel buffalo passes

As for the alternative trade discussion its going to take a solid prospect and 1st round pick added to johnsson to get larsson.

Both deals are respectable and good starting discussion points.

I agree. Skinner can stay with Buffalo, and also highly doubt the Leafs would trade Marner to Buffalo.

Boston traded Kessel to Toronto. Lightning traded Drouin to Montreal for Sergachev, that’s just two examples of big name high quality players getting traded between divisional rivals, one of which included the Leafs themselves. It’s not as common, but it’s not u heard of as well. I don’t think this fake trade would happen though anyway, and it’s not just because of the whole divisional rival thing.

Johnsson for Larsson is a no in my books. Leafs can’t afford to lose any more bodies at that position. With Hyman out, we are thin enough and relying on Johnsson (- 2nd year player), and Mikheyev, Moore, Petan, who are all basically first year.
