So assuming marner gets an offer sheet and signs it leafs take 4 1st then

Tor: 1st 2nd tymashov
Wpj: Ehlers Stanley

Ehlers is no marner but he is a 50-70 pt winger signed long term Stanley is an absolute giant something leafs don't have by letting marner walk it opens up a lot of things we can be active at the deadline or next year in free agency with some big names looking for new deals

Hyman Matthews Nylander
Johnsson Tavares Ehlers
Moore Kerfoot Kapanen
Marchment Spezza bracco

Sorry, that won't get you near Ehlers. Think what you would want for Nylander and build your offer from that. Taking into consideration that Ehlers is a better player than Nylander and also has a better contract.

Lol I think your opinion is a bit bias I wouldn’t say either are better but the reason why i suggest this trade is cause with teams now threatening with offer sheets on Laine they may need some cap space because even if they match they have connors to resign so they could end up losing one of those players.

The Jets have plenty of cap space to protect against offer sheets to either player. So, Ehlers, Laine or Connor won't be traded unless the trade makes the Jets better. Your lowball offer would be dismissed instantly.

@MMJ props for bein all over any Jets-related posts. It's nice to get a perspective on a trade from a non-Leafs fan.

No offer sheet is going to Marner. He will sign shorter deal 9 or 9.5 million.

I don’t think Ehlers is worth more than a 1st and 2nd sorry and you’re right they do have enough cap to protect both Laine and connors but what about coop Pionk all I’m saying is the jet may be willing to move a big contract in order to balance their lineup.

Well yes, the Jets could move one of those wingers to get an upgrade at center or on defense, but that isn't what you offered. You offered a futures package and a low end one at that, so there would be no incentive for Winnipeg to accept it.

There is zero need for the Jets to move a core player for cap space.

Is Ehlers a core piece though? Looking at Winnipeg’s roster, I kinda think he’s more like a spare wheel on Winnipeg’s monster truck of a team. He’s a good player, sure, but he’s no better than Nylander. If anybody on Winnipeg’s star studded team gets traded, it would be Ehlers. And just to make a point here Joe, Ehlers is a good player, but Chevy did just trade Trouba for next to nothing. Just saying. Lol. ;-)
