LEAFS GM I'm warming up to it leafs get CECI 1 SEASON AT 4.5 MILLION. same cap hit as zaitsev and they buy another year to wait Liljegren and SANDIN. zaitsev is right off leafs books gonezo. All it really cost them to make zaitsev disappear is brown........ makes room for BRACCO a better player than brown

I guess. Not sure how I feel about it still myself David. We missed golden opportunities to land a true 1RHD. Instead we get one year of Ceci. We save almost no money. We end up with a worse return for Brown than we could have had at deadline. Benning is probably just as good as Ceci, and a lot cheaper.

Ceci gets a â€œshow meâ€ contract. One year to prove himself. But we still need a 1RHD. I donâ€™t see how this trade improves is at all really, other than getting Zaitsev off the books early, which Iâ€™m sure we could have done another way without having to take Ceci back.

I suppose we have to wait and see how Ceci performs before making judgement. Harpur is a good grab though. He can play both forward and defense, so if worse comes to worse, we stick him in the back end. Lol.

I donâ€™t know much about CECI to be honest I donâ€™t know where the leafs will slot him. the leafs are still missing a big piece of DEFENCE thatâ€™s for sure

When leafs move Horton to LTIR THEY HAVE ABOUT 15 MILLION IN CAP SPACE BUT NEED TO SIGN MARNER. SO they will have 5 or 6 million to spend on a defencemen if they wish. I donâ€™t know who is out there as a UFA that leafs will want.

Ok, winging it here, but since you shouted in CAPS how about:

TOR: Kadri C; Nylander RW 11.5 M

NJD: Hischier C; Severson RD 5 M, Mcleod C (Devils have 20M in cap space)

Two good, but problem players for an overrated 1st OA (52 and 47 pts are good, but not special), a mid level Center, and a solid 2nd pair Dman at a good price. Balance the deal as you need to. Mcleod help balance out the cap a little, and the Leafs need to replace Kadri as a 3rd line center.

Leafs still have an extra 5M (this is done after they sign Marner)

Would NJD do this, maybe not. But it's not like they did well last year. And they have to keep Hall in the fold.

Not a bad lineup. outside the bottom D pairing of cource but hey getting barrie is a huge upgrade overall and at 50%. thankyou sakic.

Remember they have to sign Barrie next year.
Kerfoot is great if he signs at a low price (Maybe 3x2M) .
Gained a 6th and lost a 3rd. Soon we will corner the market in the last two rounds.

Still a good deal for now. Still need 1 more D though, might as well get 2 and give up none (tee hee) .

TOR: Nylander, Marincin, Ceci, 2nd

ARI: Hjalmarsson, Connor Timmins, 1st.
