Hearing that leafs offered Marner a 8 year deal at 11 mil ,and it was turned down . Anyone have any more info? And what do you think of situation ?

Apparently Marner wants a short term deal 11 plus which is kinda nuts.
If this is true the leafs are in big trouble.

If hey offered him that and he turned it down then he is greedy greedy greedy. Trade him. We can use that money to replace him and still have enough left over to put towards a top end RHD. Simple as that. Marner is great. Fantastic player. Probably the best Leaf player I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been watching Leafs for a very very long time (tv’s were black and white back when I started watching) . This is crap 💩. Not a team player at all. His daddy will ruin Marner’s career. We should trade baby Marner to a bottom feeding team where he will never win the cup.

What if he gets offer sheeted by a team like NYI? Then those 4x1st are going to be late 20’s or so. Not worth much at all.

Enough with accusing Mitch Marner of being greedy. He's a 21 year old KID with a garbage agent. Look at what Ferris did on the day Matthews signed his contract - he immediately made it all about Mitch not getting the recognition he deserves. But Mitch is so marketable that his hockey contract should be somewhat secondary to building his brand, and it seems like Ferris is willfully undermining that. Mitch needs new representation imho.

I'm fine with Marner wanting less term but that means to me less money. OK, you want 5 years, then I'll give you $9MM per year. I'm fine with letting him walk and getting value in a trade or picks for him.
