Leafs trade Marner
Jets trade Laine, Trouba

Apparently Laine wants out of Winnipeg now too. Leafs and Jets make an exchange of troublesome players who want too much money. As is, Leafs might not be able to afford this trade. But some salary can be dumped somewhere I’m sure.

The Jets can get a better return by trading Laine and Trouba separately. No Jets Leaf trade in the near future.

I like it. I’d rather trade Matthews in that type of a deal but still. We would be adding quite a bit of salary in this deal though. May be tough to figure out who gets added etc.

Lol. Memarcusjoe. You’ve been saying a Winnipeg’s/ Leafs trade isn’t possible, but we just traded Lindholm for Petan less than 3 months ago. So there might be another deal to be made yet still.

You Winnipeg guys are awesome. Leafs might have to add, but I don’t think it’s a whole lot. Marner is a top 10 player in the league and only getting better. While Trouba has a pretty good year this year, Laine took a step back. Everything you been saying about Kadri applies equally to Laine. Except that Kadri is a bonehead cheapshot. I’ll give you that.

C'mon LeafsGM, are you seriously trying to compare Kadri to Laine. Lol. I never heard nothing about Kadri scoring 100 goals as a teenager. Oh, that's right because he didn't.

Marner is nowhere near a top 10 player in the game. He's had one really good season and a couple good ones. You leaf fans really know how exaggerate based on small sample sizes.

Anyways, Marner as an excellent first line winger is close to being, but not quite as valuable as a proven 1RHD in a vacuum. Especially when you consider how much Marner wants in comparison to Trouba and that Marner has only played at a high level for one year when leaguers scoring was up all around. So, you would need an add at least equal to Laine's value in the trade above.
