I think both teams would want more, but not much more. I don't know what we'd do at RW, but our top two RWers are still elite, so we could afford a downgrade. Manson and Pulock would be game-changers at RD, though we'd have to shed Zaitsev somehow, ideally for a bottom six forward. Overall the makings of a great offseason.

Montour went for a 1st + Guhle, so, assuming Anaheim is willing to trade him too, Manson is likely about the same. Liljegren + 1st. Brown is not worth a 1st, so whatever the difference between Brown and 1st is would make up the difference here.

Kapanen for Pulock is reasonable. We promote Brown to 3rd line, which we know already he can play beside Kadri, and bring up Bracco, as is generally agreed he deserves.

Defense is good. Leafs look like cup winners next year. Lol.

Liljegren is the 1st in that equation. Depends how you feel about Guhle, he was a late 2nd round pick. Brown is worth that, so that deal is fine. I like both deals!

The Leafs in these scenarios add to their D which is imperative, but lose up front a little bit. Nylander would move up to Matthews line in this deal though

Hyman Tavares Marner
Johnsson Matthews Nylander
Marleau Kadri Bracco
Moore Gauthier Petan

Rielly Pulock
Muzzin Manson
Dermott Holl

Sandin takes another year in the AHL to develop and then comes up

JK.

Guhle was drafted second round, but he’s really developed into a highly rated prospect player. From what I’ve read, he’s at least as good as Liljegren, if not better. At the same time Liljegren’s stock has fallen due to injury.

Brown is worth a 2nd? I’m not so sure about that. Rielly Smith is just one example of a player off the top of my head that brought only a second and is much better than Brown. I’m sure with a few minutes time I can find several more examples. I like Brown too, by let’s face it, he’s a 3rd/ 4th line player. He’s valuable to us Leaf fans, but truth be told, he’s probably not going to bring in a 2nd round pick in return if we do trade him.

I like both deals too. A little too much. Lol. If it was that easy, we would have made the trades by now. But hey, to each their own, and this proposal was a good one.
