Knights trade Collin Miller

I acquired Spooner to free up Kadri to play up on LW. Zaitsev could be an attractive piece for Vancouver, as their defense is pretty weak and they have their young core on ELCs and tons of cap space.

I don't think we can afford both Kappy and Johnsson, and of the two I think Kapanen will be easier to resign. Acquiring Miller replaces Zaitsev with a defenseman who plays more of a Dubas style. Vegas could be looking to move Miller and Johnsson could be a great fit with the Knights.

Marleau to 4C so he keeps his streak going and plays a role that maximizes his current skillset.

Add and subtract smaller pieces to even the value, but I think both trades are pretty fair and are good fits.

LOL I suppose I forgot to trade Connor Brown, but with the coming cap crunch, moving his contract is a given. Connor Brown to the Edmonton Oilers for a third and fifth round pick.

I think Vancouver would happily except Zaitsev. Edler is looking less and less like he will re-sign there and he probably walks on July 1st. If Vancouver also wants to move Tanev, they are going to need someone to step-up and play in their top 4. Zaitsev could be that guy. We could bring in Spooner and then flip him to a team like Ottawa. Maybe he succeeds in a top 6 role there and gets his stride back.

I think Dubas would be a little reluctant trading his best LW, especially with the lack of depth behind him. Kapanen on the other hand for Miller is interesting and you might get a bit more for him since he is younger.
