Big gamble and idk if it would work or not but here's a pitch I have

Tor: Nylander Johnsson Zaitzev 3rd
Buf: Thompson Sheary rights to skinner

See idk if it would work cap wise for either team but the leafs would have to sign marner right away then try and sign skinner he's a local boy and has said he would love to play for the leafs might even take a discount I don't think with the way buffalos season has went that he would be crazy about signing there we dump two big contracts. I like Thompson he didn't have a great year but you got to love his size Sheary is a great depth guy idk I just like him for some reason. Trade kadri for a dman idk it seems like I'm out to lunch but if you could get all three of those guys our forward lineup is stronger. I wanna hear some of your guys opinions on this

Skinner Matthews Kappanen
Sheary Thompson Moore/ Bracco
Marleau Gauthier Bracco Moore

We don’t know what a player like Bracco brings to the table 50+ assists this year our left wing improves a lot and in your top 6 your have 35+ goal scorers I don’t see how possibly we could be worse.

Before any big trades are made, they need a real backup goaltender. Build from the back out, goaltending and defense first. Leafs can score, maybe not so much lately, but can’t keep the puck out of their own net.
Four playoff games and then golf this year.

First Skinner is going to want too much money, therefore a non starter. He is looking for $9M. Don't know where you jettisoned Kadri, but he is still there. If we are trading away Nylander and/ or Johnsson it better be a quality RHD coming back.

Sheary s good depth guy, but expensive. I really don’t think we could keep him. Especially if we are re-signing Skinner. Thompson I wonder if he is ever going to be a nhl player. He reminds me of Gauthier at this point in his career. Which ain’t bad. We don’t really need another Gauthier though when we still have the one we got. Skinner is a big ticket item. Glad to see him doing so well in Buffalo. I’m surprised Buffalo didn’t flip him at the deadline. They are either serious about re-signing I’m, or they really thought they were going to make the playoffs. I don’t know. It’s not like Saber’s have the best management team in the nhl. Maybe it’s just another in a long line of stupid mistakes. Especially since some of those picks come out of 2020 draft. So will be paying for Skinner even after he’s gone.
