Watched another disaster against Ottawa actually they didn't play that bad it's just been hard to watch them.

Here's my offseason moves
Toronto's UFA's
Gardner Walks
Ennis Walks
Ozhiganov Walks
Marincin Walks
Hainsey walks

RFA's to sign
Marner 6 years @ 9
Johnsson 2 years @ 2.5 stock dropping
Kapanen 3 years @ 3 stock dropping

Trades

Tor gets
Nurse D
Kassian RW

Edmonton gets
Brown RW
Hollowell D
Muzzin D

Tor gets
Niederreiter LW/RW
Pesce D

Carolina gets
Nylander C/RW
Kadri C

Tor gets
Kuemper G
Phoenix 3rd & 4th round pick 2019

Phoenix gets
Zaitsev D
Sparks G
Gordeev D

Toronto's Forward lines
Hymn/Mathews/Kapanen = 16.75
Niederreiter/Tavares/Marner = 25.2
Johnsson/Marleau/Kassian = 10.7
Gauthier/Petan/Bracco = 2.15
Total = 54.85
Moore-Engvall

Toronto's defensive lines
Riley/Pesce = 9.1
Nurse/Dermot = 3.95
Sadin/Liljegren = 1.9
Total = 14.95
Rosen-Borgman

Toronto's Goalies
Andersen G = 5
Kuemper = 1.85
Total = 6.85

Grand total = G 6.85 + D 14.95 + F 54.85 = 76.65+ 1.2 Kessel = 78.75 cap hit - 83 = 5.15 in cap space.

So the leafs have Moore, Engvall, Rosen and Borgman that could make a splash. I don't think this team is perfect but it would work for one season. Still has cap space for "on the fly fixes" plus Marleau's last year. This team is tougher without losing its two power house lines.
It's weaker up the middle and to be honest I still liked Aalotenan's performance over seas in the KHL I would give him another shot to come in on our fourth line or maybe our 3rd line because to me it would still be up for grabs with Marleau penciled in. These are possible in house fixes for the 3rd line centre
Moore C
Petan C
Gauthier C
Aalotenan C
I think the defense is good not perfect but young. We are waiting for Sadin and/or Liljegren to arrive and the additions of Nurse and Pesce kinda patches the holes left by Hainsey and Gardner! Not perfect but lots of room for Growth.
Let me know your thoughts!

I know it’s amazing GBF? It’s that good you can’t even write anything normal for yours standards! Speechless! Any way I’m sure you can show us the path to the cup? Have a great day!

I like that Carolina trade. Pesce has a ridiculous +36 right now. Very impressive. His stats are so very similar to Hsinsey, I have no doubt that he would slot in nicely beside Rielly. And of course, he’s on a very team friendly contract. Of all Carolina’s great defensemen, I like Pesce the best right now as potential target for Leafs to pursue. You’ve offered up s very impressive package here, and it’s one Carolina would have to seriously consider.

Love the new look lineups you posted. It’s a brand new team. Lol .

Since there is $5.15 MM in cap space, RHD 1 is Pesce, RHD 2- should become Hainsey for an additional $1 MM - as part of a 2 year 3.75 MM.
Better Defense, than being presented and the total available Cap is $4 MM.

K, I can get behind another year of Hainsey, I’m not a hater when it comes to new ideas I actually like that suggestion for depth. Now to be honest unlike Jodes I like to spend to the cap unless their was bonuses that we had to cover. I think this team has the potential to become a deep cup contender. With Marleau coming off the books next season once again we have the space to sign that top stud or 3rd line center or whatever we’re missing to win the cup!
