Explain you can’t just say it terrible breakdown of this trade would be

Kadri= 2019 1st + conditional pick
Liljergren = tolvenen

Kadri isn’t worth a time the guy has 15 goals this year definitely not the player from years before and Liljergren can’t even crack the injured leafs roster and has barley played this year due to injury I think people on this site over value players.

Youre trading out three forwards, while bringing in only a few defense players and a prospect. A very good prospect mind you, but since you didn’t put him in the lineups, he isn’t contributing right away next year. The result is that the forward lineups are decimated. 3rd and 4th lines are much weaker. The oldest player in the league to go along with at least three rookies, and a couple sophomores in Petan and Gauthier, neither of whom is all that good. I have serious doubts as to Petan being able to carry a line. No doubt everyone can agree he is far less capable a player than Kadri.

Aside from value, the main snag with the Nashville trade is that they have no use for Kadri. They are absolutely loaded up the middle. Admittedly, Kadri is an upgrade over a couple of their guys, but still would only be 2C at best, and more likely would be 3C on their team as well. Of course, since you are providing them with such good value, they might just make this trade and then flip Kadri or someone else.

Tolvanen looks like a real star in the making. He’s performed well at every level he’s competed in and was probably the best player at the juniors this year. I’m excited to see this guy playing in the nhl and expect good things from him. This might be the last chance a team could have at trading for him before he hits the big leagues next year and breaks out for 25 goals and 60 points his first year and puts himself out of reach. I’m very jealous Nashville has him. I still wouldn’t trade Kadri for him just yet bough. Lol.

Ok so here’s my response to you leafsgm Nashville is looking for a #2 center turris has fallin off this year so I think they will be interested in a guy like kadri since his cap hit is good kadri becomes sort of a cap dump so we can fit Gudas and Pesce also Tolvanen is a good player and if he could jump right in and play that’s great my main goal with this trade was to add defencemen and either way you look at it the leafs will have to dump cap space Zaitzev is an option but will be a hard contract to move also look at what your sending out bs what we are getting back

Out:
Kadri Liljergen kapanen brown 3rd

In: Gudas Pesce tolvenen 1st

In my opinion a lot more value coming in then going out.

We are a contending team now and for the next number of years. You value Kadri in your Nashville assesement and rubbish on him as a 3rd line C for the leafs. Prospects for proven players is not how you build championship teams. I am sure this guy tolvenen is going to be great but we need a top RD or 2 to compliment our Fwds. I see you got Pesce and Gudas but we have descemated our 3rd and 4th lines.

I have to say again. Minimal disruption

Nylander for Parayko

OR

Trade Kapanen and Kadri for a top guy. Honestly not sure what the two of them together are worth. Budget. Only reason.

I don’t know. I kinda think Kadri, Liljegren, Kapanen, Brown, 3rd is still the better package. Lol.

Jodes why on earth would blues trade you a top pairing Dman with 30 points 10 goals this year and one of the best defensive and puck moving dmen in the league for nylander. Please explain why. show your work.

Why on earth wouldn't they. Show yours.

Having said that I will talk about his offence. 8 points on power play. 26 total. Pesce has 27. No power play points. So from an offensive point of view I think I will let those two numbers speak for themselves. Oh and Parayko is 62ND in defence scoring. So point wise not buying the argument.

Nylander? Down year point wise. Sucked first few months. Better since. Will be an elite producer. Elite possession player.

We can argue Parayko being a right handed defenceman and potentially the fact that good ones don't seem to come along as often. But not going to argue about Nylander value. At the very, very least it is a starting point to a discussion. In a discussion about this trade, the two teams have a starting point

One last point. You increased Parayko production by what, 15% but provided very few other reasons why this couldn't work. Perhaps u would like to go deeper before commenting?
