Proposal this morning on PPP site

3 way trade

To CAL: D - R. Hainsey

To TOR: D - A. Nielsen

then

To EDM: D - A. Nielsen + F - C. Brown + 2nd round pick

To TOR: D - D. Nurse

I'd like this very much, would certainly upgrade the D core, although another LHD.

Leafs save a bit of cap space this year, but Leafs add $1.1M to cap for next season. Not bad, considering you would have under contract

I read this too and I don't think the Oilers would do this trade, but their management has made some dumb decisions before so anything is possible with them I guess.

We could have just made this trade earlier in the year when we still had Nielsen. Calgary has one of the best defense in the league. I don’t think they have much use for old man Hainsey. Although he is a whopping +26. (Just goes to show how outstanding he is defensively), and used virtually every PK, but would be 3rd line at best in Calgary.

Gretzky is in charge in Edmonton now. He’s a lot more astute than Chiarelli. I don’t see him making a trade like this for Nurse, who is having an outstanding breakout year.

What is PPP? Another hockey rumour site?
