So I've been sitting back thinking about all the trades I've posted on this forum and realized that most of them have transpired in some form or another and I'm not taking about the Mathews types trades, the "fantasy" trade ol' Rez Rocket99 likes to call them. As seen below

So I like to break down the trades because if Dubas could pull these off I think we would cover our needs while addressing the future also.
First off the trade that I never made Zaitsev 2nd pairing RD, that guy makes hits and block shots. Trade him in the offseason when teams are more flexible. Personally I've watched ol'Gardner toss a few up the middle more than Zaitsev ever has. That said not saying his contract isn't a boat anchor with Kapanen, Johnsson and Marner still left to sign. Offseason trade candidate.

Philly trade - Gudas just got suspended again but That said we need a little of that on our team. Did anyone watch last night game against Montreal? Toronto needs a net presence and Gudas is the man. We are barley beating an overachieving habs team. We need a little Gudas not a lot just a little.

Ducks trade - I think there's enough of a offer it would at least get things moving in the right direction. I'm sure this type of offer could be massaged into a package. I like Ritchie and Montour but the Ducks are loaded with big contracts that they'll need to move in order to hit the reset button. So this package may present that with Gardner coming off the books. When you look at the trade they're is some value.
Montour = Gardner/Liljegren/2nd round pick
Ritchie = Brown/Marchment/3rd round pick.
If one is overpaid and the other needs more than it evens out and the value is there. They could just flip Gardner to someone else for a return.

Columbus Trade - cap dump that's it I just figured their all in so they could use him.

This team could make a serious run.

This would be a sexy team to take a run at the cup.

Then in the offseason I would trade Zaitsev for some picks fill up the baby leafs and this way you'll have Zaitsev/Hainsey/Gardner/Brown/lindholm/ Ozhiganov off the books sign Kapanen 3 million for 2 years, Johnsson for 3 Million for 2 years and Marner gets 10.5 million for 6 years. Hopefully someone else does the cap counting to correct me if I'm wrong this little proposal has gone deep lol!

Still looking into the future this isn't that bad for another season they could try and get rid of Marleau which in my opinion is well over paid and we are probably stuck with him until he's a UFA can't see sharks/Ducks/Kings have much use for him and that's that sports fan, leafs outlook for the next couple of years.

Sorry but the Ducks just traded Montour to Buffalo for jack rubbish. We were all over estaming Montour’s value it seems. What a dumb trade by Anaheim’s management. 😂

If Philly will take that trade then I’m for it.

Leafs hound dog did at some point put all those players he mentioned above in a deal to become a leaf

However, he has basically put everyone in the nhl in some sort of deal to become a leaf because he offers many many deals. So the odds are the players he mentions will get dealt at some point.

Thanks Craigger12 for pointing that out, after today we’ll have to worry about the draft and July 1st. I do not think the leafs make any big splashes for rentals today. Hopefully Dubas can make me eat my words and get us some help for the playoffs but it’s hard to believe they would want to shake up the roster that much. Anyway gents have a good trade deadline and see you on the other side.
