It seems about the time of year to re-acquire Polak lol

To TOR: D - R. Polak + F - B. Comeau + D - M. Methot (cap dump)

To DAL: F - C. Brown + D - N. Zaitsev

Comeau will be a reliable 2nd line LW after this season and the Leafs pay a little to move Zaitsev out to clear cap. Polak is someone Babcock has liked to have.

So in this deal the leafs are taking on 2 million dollars in cap space.
However, Methot can go to LTIR and both his and Polak's contract expire at the end of this year. That means the leafs are technically dumping 2.9 million dollars in cap this year, and have an extra 4.2 million dollars in cap space next year.

If the leafs could flip Comeau at the deadline then I would be all for this, he is too old on is on pace for a career low in points. He is a 4th line LW, not a 2md line LW. We can't have a 4th liner making 2.4 million dollars next year, we just can't afford to do it.

Brown is 4th line and making over $2M. But then again, I’ve also been saying we can’t afford him either. We could have just signed Conway in the summer if we wanted him. I don’t think Leafs have any interest in him. I’d rather just keep Brown.

Just a thought you think Dallas would trade methots LTIR for hortons I mean it has an extra year but I mean it kinda makes sense for them cap wise no?
