Huberdeau is awesome. And the rumour is, he’s available. But, here’s the catch: Florida is looking to dump salary so they can make a huge offer to Bobrovsky and Panarin. This proposal doesn’t help them reach that objective. They actually take on more salary in this proposal.

Florida needs to free up a lot of money. As crazy as it might sound, I wouldn’t be surprised if Huberdeau goes for an underwhelming return (Niedereitter for Rask anyone? ) . A package of picks/ prospects to free up the capital needed to pursue the holy grail in free agents this summer.

I would love Huberdeau on the team. He’s a great player and he has a lot of heart.
