Chi: Saad

Tor: tymashov 6th

The money works Saad is a decent player and would forsure strengthen our left wing best part is we get rid of Zaitsev

Edmonton Trade is solid choice for bottom pairing. I like the Chicago trade but I was given the fifth degree for it hopefully you get a pass lol.

Not that I’d complain about zaitsev for Saad but why would the Blackhawks want another high paid defense man? They’re already stuck with Keith and Seabrook as they won’t waive their NTC.

Oh no. Not Saad. ;Anbody but Saad. -) . Lol. Just kidding.

Saad’s a good player. But that $6M contract of his is a big turn off. It’s nice to see him having a bounce back to his normal production levels after such a bad year last season. But I still don’t think we should be taking him on. We would be much better off throwing that $6M at a top line RHD ratheer than another high priced forward.

And I’m pretty sure Chicago would have no use for Zaitsev either. They still have Seabrook and his boat anchor contract to deal with, and with Boqvist and Jokiharju coming up, they won’t have a fit for Zaitsev. Besides, they probably want to drop salary as they are so close to cap.

It’s a smart idea. Dumping Zaitsev for what may be another overpriced contract that a team like Chicago may be anxious to get out from underneath. As long as we lose term it makes sense still I guess. I’m just not sure Saad is the right guy or not. Leafs could do a lot worse than pursue Saad though, and if we traded Zaitsev for him, I wouldn’t be crying in my beer over it anyway.

I think it you look at Chicago’s current defence they don’t really have anyone other than Keith and seabrook Zaitzev would improve their current d core and I mean In another year or so they would be able to dump Zaitzev they get a good grinder in brown thatcan play in any situation and a good pick as for saads contract yes 6 mil is not ideal to take on but the way I look at it is we are sending 6.5 mil to Chicago also Saad is 26 once we ditch Marleaus cap hit then his contract isn’t that bad keep in mind he has 18 goal this year which is pretty solid I think he would fit nicely into the lineup and would put us over the top offensively wise.

I'm just going to say this. Because a trade is dollar for dollar doesn't make it work. The budget is hugely over next year.
