Leafs: Kapanen, Zaitsev, 3rd
Canes: Pesce, Ferland

I don't want to trade Kapanen but we do have Bracco coming up next year anyway so he can replace him.

Leafs: Gardiner, Brown, Rosen
Jackets: Panarin

Begrudgingly I would accept the first trade.

Second trade for Panarin : Keep Rosen and put someone else in the offer such as Borgman or Woll.

First deal works now but everyone will hate it when kapanen scores 30 goals 6 years in a row.

Second deal unfortunetly Dermott instead of gardiner. leafs then say no. why would colombus deal 1 ufa for another. they want lng term guys for panarin

Great starting deals here and with hard decisions and negotiations some could come true.

Brown and Rosen will not get you Panarin. Forget about Gardiner, Jackets don't want or need him. He's a rental.

How many times are you going to say the same trade, this is like the 5th time, zaitsev is a top 6 at best and the 3rd holds no value.

Kapanen for Pesce has been kicked around for a while. Lots of analysts have written articles about this trade. And it does make sense. Craigger seems opposed to it, but I’m all for it. Pesce is a very high quality young defensemen who is signed long term for good value. I would think his numbers improve even better on the Leafs, whereas I have a hard time seeing Kapanen peg 30 goals a year on a mediocre Carolina team. And that’s not anything against Kapanen, it’s a knock against Carolina. History shows that players leave the team improve significantly, while players trades to the team have their stats supressed significantly. They just aren’t a good team.

We should all just forget about Panarin. We aren’t going to get him for anything we would feel comfortable trading for him. There are so many other available players this year, we can get a player like Eberle, for example, who can do almost the same job, but for an affordable price. We can’t afford to re-sign Panarin. Better off letting a team that thinks they can re-sign him overpay for him.
