Leafs are looking for size, skill, lack of fear type of player prior to the playoffs:
My suggestion will anger some fans but here it goes:
To Carolina: Johnson and Brown (possible pick depending on deal negotiations)
To Leafs Andre Svechnikov

Carolina receives a RHand forward they need and a speedy LHand shot that could fit their top 6

I'd love to see the line of:
Svechnikov Kadri Kapanen that would be sweet

Would be sweet, only problem is Waddell would never do it.

I know it is a pipe dream with my above suggestion, but I don't want to add a player just for 1 yr.

So looking at Ferland (who has had a few concussion I believe) and is looking for a new contract. I'd love to have him but am worried.

Wayne Simmonds again would be nice for the run, but costly for 1 yr.

So, I am just trying to find that gritty type player with youth for youth in return.
Johnson and Brown + maybe enticing

But thank your for your reponse eh.

Svechnikov is a very highly ranked prospect player. He’s doing rather well his first year on a mediocre Carolina team. His first year in the NHL and he’s got more goals than either Brown or Johnsson and is producing same points as well.

I would absolutely love Svechnikov on the team. But I think it’s to early for Carolina to be looking at trading a possible future star performer. I like Brown and Johnsson a lot too. Both very high quality athletes that are proven more than capable of playing at the highest level.

I understand why you would be attracted to Svechnikov. It’s just not in the cards quite yet. Carolina has high hopes for this young man, and understandably so. He’s living up to expectations so far. Even Waddell wouldn’t make this trade just yet though.

Are you serious. Would you trade except Johnson and Brown for Marner. Seriously. you do realize he is going to be just as good as marner right. He is 18 years old and has 12 goals 10 assists in the nhl in 50 games. Marner was still in the OHL when he was 18.

Svechnikov is going to be a good player, but he's no Marner. It was a pipe dream but Johnson is no slouch either and will be a top 6 forward
Brown easily top 9 that takes on various roles due to injury.
Add a top prospect, and a pick is not that far off.
But its just a thought and I'm aware Carolina would say no hence pipe dream.
