Leafs trade Hollowell
Edmonton trades Yamamoto

I’ve been trying to draw attention to Hollowell last couple days, no one seems to want to talk about him though. He’s just tearing apart the OHL this year. He’s exactly the same size height and weight as Spurgeon. 10 years ago I would have said this kid would never have a shot at the NHL. Now I’m not so sure. Just seeing what others think about this guy. Thoughts?

I really like everything I've read about Hollowell. We'll know more if and when he gets a shot with the Marlies. Along with Durzi and Sandin, it looks like Dubas picked a few solid defensemen in his first draft.

So you hype up Hollowell and trade him? What are Leafs going to do with another undersized forward? They need some size up front not another smurf.

Easy no.

For now I think the leafs keep him, but yes if he continues to improve he could be a nice asset if we want to improve our team in the next few years.

@hugoboss

The trade was only the front so I could post about Hollowell. I’m just seeing what people think of him. I
Yamamoto is way too small for my liking. I can’t believe Edmonton wasted a 1st round pick on him. I only used him as the trading partner here because Hollowell is so small himself. 10 years ago I would have said neither player will ever make impact in NHL. Now the game favors speed and skill. The little guys are winning. Chicago too seems to have embraced the “smaller the better” style.
